Cut primary energy by replacing 300kW gas boiler with 2x50kW heat pumps. Primary energy cut from 300Kw to 25kW, total drop in primary energy 275kW .

Hybrid Heating Solution using the Eurotech Eco4 Light Over Floor Heating System combined with Heat Pumps and SMART Controls to deliver a seasonal efficiency of SCOP 4.5.
Renovation of Church building to switch from using oil and heat the church, using Renewable Energy. The proposed system to qualify for an SEAI Grant and reduce running costs with dramatically increase the level of comfort in the church.
The Brief: Project to take no more than four weeks to install and be delivered inside the agreed budget.
St Bernadette’s Parish Church: To reduce the carbon footprint of the building by 50% and increase to the comfort expirience by 100% in winter months to create long term sustainability.
Design Target: To deliver an 80% running cost reduction, eliminate fossil fuels, future proof the building.
New Technology: Hybrid Heating Solution using the Eurotech Eco4 Light Over Floor Heating System combined with Heat Pumps and SMART Controls to deliver a seasonal efficiency of SCOP 4.5.

Effective Design Strategy: Heating design devised to heat the occupied space to 2m high – stop heating above 2m high.
Heating Capacity : Required thermal energy reduced from 300 Kw oil boiler to 80kW Heat Pumps.
Primary Energy : Reduction in Primary Energy from 300kw to 20 Kw. Suitable for grid on Solar Power.
Control Strategy: Smart controls using logic and AI to apply predictive learning to manage heat.
Target Result: Reduce the carbon footprint – Cut the running cost to increase the comfort.

The Eurotech Eco4 Light radiant heating system offers a modern low-energy solution to create exceptional high comfort in old buildings. Designed for easy installation and rapid response to distribute heat, its low water temperature is ideal for use with heat pump systems.
- Ultra-efficient: Delivers warmth where it’s needed and avoids heating the high space above the occupants.
- Quick to respond: No deep screeds requiring heating before the system begins to radiate heat from the floor.
- Lightweight, low-profile: Ideal for retrofitting over timber joist floors in old or new builds.
- Ideal for Heat Pumps: Eco4 Light increases the efficiency of the heat pump by lowering the required flow temperature.

Design Strategy
To cut the primary energy – replaced a 300kW gas boiler with 2 No. 50kW heat pumps. Primary energy cut from 300Kw/h to 25kW/h.
Reduction in primary energy achieved = 275kW/h
- Using the Eurotech Eco4 Light over floor heating system reduced the cost of civil works, saving the project €92,000
- Eco4 Light radiant floor heating prevented the removal and disposal cost of tiles containing asbestos, saving €100,000
- Eco4 Light reduced the installation cost of the system compared to traditional under floor heating, saving €74,000
- Eco4 Light 25 mm system reduced the heat pump size from 300kW > 100 Kw,reducing the cost of equipment by €48.000
- The system secured an SEAI Low carbon grant through smart design and renewable energy, saving the project €105.000.
Eurotech extensive Knowledge base and excellent Knowhow resulted in saving 145.2 Tonn Co2/year and reduced the renewable heating system cost by €417,000.00
