Dual Fuel Air & Geotermal – Hybrid Heat Pumps
Hybrid – Renewable Heating Upgrade
1. Building Preparation
Before work began, the property underwent essential preparation to allow safe access and easy installation.
This included plant-room preparation, structural assessment, technical specification and design plan.
2. Geothermal Boreholes Plan
Boreholes drilled to supply geothermal energy for the house and leisure building included 4 holes, 140 deep.
High-efficiency ground loops provide energy to the Heat Pump System along with modulating air evaporators, providing a stable renewable energy supply all year round.
3. Basement Energy Distribution Center
Old redundant fossil fuel plant-room gets repurposed as energy distribution center.
Distribution pipework – Central Control – Easy Maintenance – High Efficiency
4. Manifold Distribution System
Eco4 Radiant Floor Heating laid over an existing floors.
Manifolds installed to provide precise energy distribution throughout the property.
This ensures balanced heat distribution across every room and floor level creating perfect energy balance.
5. Eco4 Radiant Overfloor Heating to 839 m²
High-efficiency radiant floor heating was installed across 839 m² in existing building.
Eco4 Radiantoffers low-temperature heating with maximum comfort and instant response.
Specialist Eco4 Screed poured over the Eco 4 Radiant heating to create the optimal thermal transfer of heat into the space.
The Eco4 Screed ensures fast heat and long-term system durability and performance.
6. Intelligent Controls and Energy Management
EuroSmart Energy Management provides touch control to 32 heating zones in the Manor House Smart Control includes predictive learning to deliver temperature stability throughout the entire hose.
The system automatically balances comfort control and energy efficiency.
7. Heat Pump Installation
Hybrid Heat Pumps provide Heating – cooling & Hot Water
Designed mechanical and electrical services forming the core of the new renewable energy system.
Two Hybrid Heat Pumps provide heating energy and source energy to HT Clausius Heat Pump.
Heat Pump Plantroom
The project concludes with a fully finished plantroom—clean, organised, and future-proof.
This space houses the complete geothermal system, heat recovery hot water unit, manifolds, pumps, and automation controls.

Key Technical Highlights:
The Large House, a protected 839 m² residential property, engaged Eurotech Renewables to evaluate its outdated oil-based heating system with the objective of reducing operating costs, improving comfort levels, and lowering annual CO₂ emissions. Following the Eurotech energy assessment, a dual geothermal and air energy heat pump system combined with advanced multi-zone smart controls was identified as the most efficient and least disruptive solution. The installation of the new system, managed through EuroSmart predictive controls, reduced primary energy consumption by more than 80%, while delivering consistent temperatures across all areas and improving comfort stability.
• Existing oil-based heating system replaced with a high-efficiency geothermal/air renewable energy system
• Vertical boreholes provide stable year-round energy
• Zero downtime during transition to new system
• Eurotech Eco4 Light Radiant Floor Heating ensures efficient heat distribution and enhanced comfort
| Metric | Before | After | Column Reduction / Savings4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annual Energy Consumption | 207,000 kWh | ≈20,000 kWh | ↓ ≈80-90% |
| Annual Energy Savings | – | 187,000 kWh | Equivalent to powering approx. 39 homes/year |
| Annual CO₂ Savings | – | ≈37 t CO₂ | (based on 0.20 kg CO₂/kWh) |
| Annual Cost Savings (to End User) | – | ≈€18,750 / year | (based on €0.15/kWh) |
