How Eco4 Works?
Unlike conventional heating systems that rely on convection to distribute the heat, Eco4 uses low-intensity radiant rays to heat the occupants. Operating at low temperatures in a thin 25 mm to respond system responds quickly without heat loss in occupied areas and avoids heating the high space at the ceilings.
Designed for Heat Pumps
Eco4 operates at low water temperatures, making it an ideal partner for heat pump technology, this improves system efficiency and reduces running costs, supporting the transition away from fossil fuels.
Retrofit Friendly
Eco4 Light can be installed directly onto existing timber or concrete floors, a practical solution for renovation projects. Older buildings benefit from renewable heating technology, no structural alterations and much lower heating cost.
Heritage Buildings
Eco4 is particularly suitable for heritage and protected buildings where major fabric changes are restricted. The system operates at low temperatures while maintaining comfortable indoor conditions and helping to improve the overall energy performance.

From first contact to warm floors – our proven process.
Once you have decided on the areas you intend to heat or if it is the entire project, simply forward a set of floor plans with clear instructions and our design teal will do the rest.
Our engineers survey the plans, select the most suitable location for equipment, agree locations and design the Eco4 system.
Images to accompany plans on retrofit projects are beneficial to our design engineers in locating the Eco4 manifold.
Architectural features that may affect the installation can be highlighted and discussed to accommodate same.
Final detailed plan and layout diagram provided for agreement prior to costing the system or dispatching product.
Cost estimating:
Eco4 RADIANT is best costed by providing a floor plan for the area intended.
A comprehensive list of equipment is generated to establish the cost.
New construction projects should plan early in the process to take advantage of cost reductions created by Eco4 radiant in the overall budget.
Domestic projects can also reduce costs, finished floor and subfloor screed can be combined into one, first floor will not require insulation, first or second floors decked in timber are ideal for Eco4 LIVING.
Instalation time to install the system is reduced, screed thickness is reduced, drying out time is reduced, warm up time is instant.
Design, supply and fit options, provide a clear breakdown of costs, fitting time, and screeding option if required.
All Eco4 LIVING forms part of a renewable energy package with grant aid up to 40% available due to its effect on increasing system efficiency and operating cost.
There are two ways to precure the Eco4 Light system, one option is to source the system materials, supply only and engage an experienced installer to fit and commission the system on site. This option can include a system design document which can be provided following receipt of the required project information.
Alternatively, the Eco4 LIVINGis offered as a design, install and commissioned system. Once the design is approved, you can procure the necessary equipment, consult with the project manager, agree the instalation date and receive instructions required to prepare the site. Once the instalation date is agreed with the installation team preparations are in train to ensure a smooth and efficient installation process. Regularly communicate with the team is advised to update on project progress and align with the plan.
The necessary tools and materials:
- Eco4 LIVING specification & design provided by Eurotech Renewables
- Insulation boards are optional on request.
- Piping system in cross-linked polyethylene.
- Manifold system in Nickle coated brass
- Overfloor Eco4 LIVING quick tray, structured support system.
- We offers a wide range of products, including pipes connected with unions, clips, and brackets. Thermal fill material is optional, and they provide a pipe un-winder that supports rolls up to 500 meters. Additionally, their offerings include pipe cutters and crimping tools, along with pipe bending formers available on request.
- Screws, adhesive, and fixing materials on request.
- Valve actuators to fit manifold in 230V or 24Volt
- Smart controls, wired version 12 Volt, includes logic programming and up to 32 heating zones on one system.
- Wireless control option available with wi-fi connection.
Eco4 LIVING is designed to fit over any existing floor, as a result preparations are divided into categories to match each application.
Category one; Timber Joist floor systems with floorboards or plywood deck.
- The timber decks must be thoroughly cleaned, building materials or adhesive must be removed to form a flat even surface like a tabletop.
- The floor deck must be washed, mopped, and dried fully before applying a suitable sealer to primer the floor.
- Once primed, no traffic is permitted prior to laying the Eco4 LIVING system.
Category two; Existing concrete floors, switching from rads. to Eco4 LIVING.
- Remove existing carpets, laminates, lino, or tiles, remove any adhesive used to secure the floor finish.
- Buff of tile adhesive using a diamond cutting disk or similar.
- Level existing floor where necessary to form a flat finish.
- Clean and dry existing floors and seal each floor using a suitable primer.
Category three; Concrete floors in new construction projects
- New concrete ground floors with Radon, insulation and concrete screed require a smooth flat finish on the concrete screed, Eco4 LIVING may be applied directly over the finished concrete surface to form an additional 20-25mm finished floor, towards the end of construction.
- Concrete floor surface must be clean and dry before applying a suitable primer in preparation for the system.
- Upper-level concrete floors do not require insulation, Eco4 LIVING may be fitted directly over the concrete screed once prepared, to form the finished floor.
- Follow the provided instructions to mount the manifold and control system in the designated location.
- Connect the flow and return pipes to the manifold.
Before covering the pipes, conduct a pressure test to ensure there are no leaks. Follow the instructions provided by Eurotech Renewables for this step.
Depending on the flooring material you plan to use, cover the PEX pipes with suitable insulation, such as screed, self-leveling compound, or insulation boards.
Lay the PEX pipes
- Starting from the manifold, lay the PEX pipes according to your layout plan, ensuring proper spacing between pipes (usually around 150-200 mm).
- Secure the pipes in place using clips or brackets.
- Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the pipes to maintain optimal water flow.
Conect the pipes:
- Use the provided connectors to join the pipes together, following Eurotech Renewables’ guidelines.
- Crimping tools or other suitable methods to create secure connections.
Follow the instructions provided by Eurotech Renewables to install the thermostat in a suitable location. Ensure proper electrical connections and programming.
- Once the installation is complete, fill the system with water and follow the startup procedures provided by Eurotech Renewables.
- Test the underfloor heating system to ensure it’s functioning properly.
- Make any necessary adjustments or corrections if required.

Yes. Eco4 Radiant is specifically designed for retrofit applications. At only 25mm thick, it installs directly over existing timber, concrete, or tiled floors without structural alterations. This makes it ideal for heritage buildings where preserving original features is essential.
The SEAI offers grants up to €6,500 for heat pump systems including compatible low-temperature distribution systems like Eco4 Radiant. Additional grants up to 40% are available for deep retrofit projects under the National Home Energy Upgrade Scheme.
Most residential installations are completed in 1-2 days per 100m². The screed requires 3-5 days curing time, after which floor finishes can be applied. The system can be commissioned and heating within 10 days of installation start.
