The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) offers a range of Home Energy Grants for homeowners and private landlords across Ireland.
They offer 3 types of Energy Upgrade Grants:
1. Individual Energy Upgrade Grants – Selection of individual grants for home energy upgrades
2. One Stop Shop Service – A complete home energy upgrade solution
3. Fully Funded Energy Upgrade – For qualifying homeowners

Heat Pump Systems Grants
Heat pumps are energy-efficient, renewable heating systems that provide consistent comfort while reducing energy costs and carbon emissions. To perform effectively, your home must be properly insulated.
As of February 2026, SEAI grants for heat pump systems have increased significantly, with homeowners now eligible for up to €12,500 in total support.
The SEAI grant for heat pump systems is now available as a combined package of supports:
€6,500 – Heat Pump System
€2,000 – Heating System Upgrade (radiators / underfloor)
€4,000 – Renewable Heat Bonus (for replacing fossil fuel systems)
Total grant available: up to €12,500
The total grant amount depends on your property type and eligibility criteria.
Apartments and smaller systems may qualify for lower grant amounts.
Heating Controls Grant
Heating controls work by matching your heating and hot water schedules to the way you use your home. It’s a smarter way to heat your home and hot water.
This grant will help you install heating controls in your home. All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2011 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. The value of the grant is €700.
Solar Thermal Systems Grants
Solar thermal systems transform energy from the sun into hot water for your home. They are designed to meet 50 – 60% of your annual hot water needs.
This grant will help you install a solar thermal system to heat hot water for your home. All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2011 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. The value of the grant is €1,200.
Solar Electricity Grants
Generate renewable electricity for your home using solar photovoltaic panels.
This grant will help you install Solar PV panels in your home to generate renewable electricity. All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2011 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. The grant is paid on a pro rata basis e.g. for a 2.5kWp system the grant value would be €1,950.
