DOMESTIC – Underfloor Heating System
Eurotech Renewables offers underfloor heating systems for domestic applications. Underfloor heating is an efficient and comfortable way to heat homes, providing even warmth throughout the floor space.
It involves installing a network of pipes or electric heating elements beneath the floor surface to distribute heat evenly throughout the room.
There are two main types of underfloor heating systems used in domestic applications: water-based systems (hydronic) and electric systems.
- Water-based systems (Hydronic): This type of underfloor heating system uses a network of pipes to circulate warm water. The water is heated by a central boiler or a heat pump, and it is then pumped through the pipes installed beneath the floor. The heat from the water radiates through the floor surface, providing a comfortable and even warmth. Hydronic systems are typically more expensive to install than electric systems but can be more cost-effective to run in the long term, especially if coupled with energy-efficient heat sources like heat pumps.
- Electric systems: Electric underfloor heating systems use electric heating elements, usually in the form of heating mats or cables, installed directly beneath the floor surface. These heating elements generate heat when an electric current passes through them. Electric systems are generally easier and less expensive to install than water-based systems, making them a popular choice for smaller areas or retrofitting existing homes. However, they can be more expensive to operate in the long run, especially if electricity costs are high.
